    The Maintenance and Environmental Services Director will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance and Environmental Services Departments, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing facility maintenance. Responsibilities include overseeing the efficient, clean, safe, and comfortable maintenance of the facility.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure facility and department are maintained in a clean and safe manner and necessary equipment and supplies are maintained and operable to perform required duties and services
    • Ensure sufficient level of supplies, disinfectants, equipment, etc. is maintained to provide a clean, safe and sanitary environment
    • Ensure environmental personnel understand and follow Universal Precautions established safety rules, fire and disaster procedures and departmental policies and procedures while performing daily tasks
    • Make daily rounds to assure that environmental services personnel are performing required duties and to assure that appropriate procedures are being rendered to meet needs of facility.
    • Maintains facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, windows, removing trash, etc.
    • Moves furniture in order to complete assignments
    • Coordinates daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas
    • Assist in terminal cleaning of resident room upon transfer, discharge, or death
    • Follows maintenance schedule/instruction from supervisor and as outlined in established maintenance policies and procedures
    • Performs routine maintenance and repair on facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed in accordance with established procedures
    • Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc. by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc. as necessary or directed
    • Replaces burned out light bulbs, to include exit lights, overhead lights
    • Ensures the operation of machinery, mechanical equipment and upkeep of facility by assisting department in Preventative Maintenance Program
    • May assume on call responsibilities as scheduled, including weekends and holidays
    • Performs unscheduled or emergency maintenance tasks as directed

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience preferable in a supervisory capacity.
    • Training in environmental control practices and procedures preferred.
    • Medical or long-term care experience is desirable.
    • Must be over 18 to apply
    • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields
    • Familiarity with cleaning materials and equipment
