Psychological Services Director directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of psychological services to patients. Oversees the treatment of patients with emotional, mental, and or psychological disorders. Being a Psychological Services Director ensures the psychological division follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Psychological Services Director typically reports to top management. The Psychological Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Psychological Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The Social Services Director oversees the operation of the nursing center Social Services Department according to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, Genesis policies and procedures, and standards of care for specialty practice.

    *Directly supervise two or more members of the Social Services staff.
    *Foster a climate, policies, and routines that enable patients/residents to maximize their individuality, independence, and dignity and the highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and quality of life.
    *Educate staff regarding the role of Social Services and the psychosocial needs of patients/residents and their families/significant others including the problems of aging and disability.
    *Identify and monitor community changes and opportunities such as legislation, regulations, and programs that impact nursing home patients/residents.
