    The selected Clinical Psychologist will participate as part of the Behavior Health Services (BHS) team responsible for serving as an advocate for the psychological health and well-being of the workforce supporting the DOE Hanford worksite. Behavioral Health Services provides comprehensive psychological assessment and mental health services in support of DOE’s Employee Assistance Program, Human Reliability Program, and Hanford contractors/stakeholders seeking Fitness for Duty and Return to Work evaluations that help ensure worker safety. BHS also provides a Substance Abuse Monitoring program, health education and promotion program, and team building and soft skills leadership training.


    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct psychological evaluations of workforce employees enrolled in the Human Reliability Program.
    • Conduct fitness-for-duty and readiness to return to work psychological evaluations using psychological and cognitive testing.
    • Diagnose psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues that affect worker safety and ability to perform job tasks.
    • Collaboratively develop treatment goals and identify evidence-based treatments for issues that affect work, such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, coping with change anger, work performance, and drug or alcohol abuse.
    • Work in collaboration with the Employee Assistance Program to provide confidential psychological counseling to adult clients and couples.
    • Provide substance abuse evaluation and monitoring of compliance with community-based treatment resources.
    • Provide psychological consultation on issues of workplace wellness, team development, and employee culture to major stakeholders including the Department of Energy.
    • Collaborate and function as a member of a multidisciplinary occupational medical services team.
    • Develop educational programming that supports workforce wellness.
    • Actively participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, regulatory compliance, and accreditation maintenance/compliance activities.
    • Build strong relationships and partnerships with Hanford stakeholders and employees, and interface with community-based medical, substance abuse treatment, and mental health agencies.
    • Adhere to and foster acceptable health and safety practices.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • Participates in all Designated Psychologist and HRP-related programs.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Education/Experience

    Required:

    • A doctoral degree from a clinical psychology program that includes completion of a one-year clinical internship approved by the American Psychological Association or an equivalent program.
    • An accumulated minimum of three years postdoctoral clinical experience with a major emphasis in psychological assessment.
    • Valid, unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in the state of Washington or the ability to obtain Washington state license.
    • Must be eligible to obtain Department of Energy access authorization/clearance.
    • Must maintain and adhere to the continuing education requirements for the applicable professional credential. 

    Desired:

    • Industrial/organizational and clinical psychologist experience.
    • Psychological assessment with security and/or law enforcement personnel.
    • Health and wellness programming experience.
    • Previous experience with the Department of Energy or a related government agency setting

    Skills/Training

    Required:

    • Ability to provide evidence-based therapies to a culturally diverse population.
    • Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting essential functions (i.e., ADA, EEO, Privacy Act, HIPAA, etc.).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with computers.

    Desired:

    • Educational programming and presentation skills.

    Must be U.S. Citizenship or National and have ability to successfully obtain necessary security clearance.


    Salary Range:

    $73hr-$80hr commensurate of experience
