  • Student Well-Being provides counseling services, health promotion initiatives, and prevention programs to empower the S&T community to thrive and enhance personal, academic, and professional success.

    The Health Educator will play a key role in supporting the health and well-being of both students and employees by facilitating mental well-being initiatives and promoting a positive campus culture. This position will provide organizational-level outreach, individual consultations, and support programs such as the Well-Being Ambassador Program and the Faculty/Staff Champions Program, with a special focus on underrepresented and underserved populations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate workshops, trainings, and outreach sessions aimed at enhancing belonging, resilience, and emotional well-being across campus
    • Support organization-level initiatives, including the Well-Being Ambassador Program and the Faculty/Staff Champions Program
    • Provide support for the initiatives of the JED Health and Well-Being Committee
    • Oversee the department’s intern program
    • Provide supervision to peer educators and guide student through the development of mental well-being campaigns
    • Coordinate suicide prevention programs and initiatives
    • Lead non-clinical support groups and workshops focused on topics such as resilience, positivity, and gratitude
    • Provide one-on-one wellness consultations and solution-focused sessions for students and staff
    • Collaborate with campus departments to promote overall well-being and strengthen organizational culture
    • Utilize social-psychological theories to diagnose challenges and improve campus well-being initiatives
    • Expand well-being services to underserved populations, including LGBTQ , international, graduate, and BIPOC students
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications


    A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Psychology, Social Work, Public or Community Health, Health Promotion, Human Services, or related field required OR the equivalent of two years of progressively responsible work experience in a similar position OR combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
    • Experience in health education, wellness, or a related field
    • Strong knowledge of psychological and social-psychological theories as they relate to well-being and organizational culture
    • Ability to engage and support diverse populations

    Anticipated Hiring Range


    The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.61-$22.00 hourly.



    Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
