Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We specialize in custom metal fabrication, process and utility piping, rigging, cutting, blasting and painting. We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our team.

    The Press Break Operator will fabricate, assemble, install and as necessary, repair metal parts and products. This position will support the achievement of established operating objectives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • As necessary, travel to customer’s site; talk with customer to obtain needs, specs and measurements.
    • Calculate inside and outside dimensions to assure proper fit.
    • Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings and written or verbal instructions.
    • Lay out, measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares and rulers.
    • Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet metal products.
    • Select gauges and types of metal, according to product specifications.
    • Examine workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.
    • Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry.
    • Shear, saw, cut, roll, bend, drill or weld metal.
    • Fasten seams and joints together with welds, bolts, rivets, solder, metal drive clips and bonds to assemble components into products or to repair metal items.
    • Travel when necessary to install units.
    • Maneuver completed units into position for installation and anchor the units.
    • Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, using correct tools.
    • Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials and notify supervisors.
    • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
    • Participate in all company training.
    • Follows all company policies, procedures and safety rules. Conducts self at all times in a professional, ethical and courteous manner as a representative of the Company.
    • Operates company vehicles/equipment in a safe and courteous manner and properly parks and secures vehicles at all times.
    • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
