Job Summary:

The Purchasing Clerk I position is responsible for the purchase of equipment, supplies and services necessary for the operation of the agency. This position is under the supervision of the Procurement/Asset Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and processing of agency’s purchase requisitions.
• Processing of purchase orders.
• Procurement of services, equipment, or supplies.
• Monitor and manage delivery and receipt of incoming purchases.
• Monthly reporting of copier and postage usage to include office supplies.
• Petty cash and postage reconciliation on an as needed basis.

Job Skills – Must do:

• Accurately purchase supplies and equipment
• Process purchase orders for each program; enter data into the Accounting System purchasing module
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all purchasing transactions

Job Knowledge – Must Know:

• Knowledge of purchasing principles, practices and terminology
• Knowledge of basic financial record keeping and reporting
• Ability to learn agency’s purchasing and accounts payable policies and practices
• Ability to exercise courtesy, good judgment and tact in dealing with callers and in handling problems
• Computer proficiency in word documents, and spreadsheets.

Minimum Requirements of the Position:

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• 3 years experience in a purchasing related field preferred
• Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT TO EXCEED 6 PTS)
• Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $10.32 per hour
