Being a Purchasing Clerk interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Purchasing Clerk will support the SC&L Supervisor with all procurement related tasks such as managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory, back-up shipping/receiving, and provide administrative support with projects.

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. In addition, the individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.
