Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Memco Safety is currently seeking a Purchasing Clerk to join our team in Hollister, MO. We’re a growing family-owned business and we are seeking an individual who is motivated, team-oriented, organized and takes direction well. The individual should possess a logical mind set and excellent people skills to work closely with the Purchasing Agents, The Purchasing Manager and the Director of Purchasing. You will compile back-order reports, follow-up calls on open purchase orders, keep open lines of communication to Purchasing Agents, the warehouses, and the finance team to solve problems with vendors as assigned or in the absence of the Purchasing Agents.
Job Responsibilities:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related experience as a Purchasing Clerk and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
