Purchasing Clerk, Sr initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates. Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk, Sr interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk, Sr coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk, Sr works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the production planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s production capacity as well as managing inventory levels. Duties also include the purchasing and ordering of materials as needed.
• Schedules and adjusts production plans as required to meet production requirements
• Schedule production based on forecasts provided from demand planning
• Maintains and reviews records of previous and current customer sales to compare against forecasts. Works with Demand planning on any variances to adjust schedules accordingly to meet sales orders.
• Creates work orders for production based on weekly schedules provided from demand planning
• Adjust daily work orders as needed for substitutions or modifications
• Maintains inventory levels ensuring product is available for production runs
• Assists in developing and/or strengthening the MRP systems
• Purchases materials/supplies as needed
• Assure correct deployment of Finished Goods to outside DC’s to meet customer orders
• Other duties as assigned.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing
• Bachelor's Degree preferred or combination of experience and education
• Excellent computer skills including advance Excel or Access
• Experience with Database management, SQL.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Food manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
• Food production: 3 years (Preferred)
• Microsoft Access: 1 year (Preferred)
• Production planning: 3 years (Preferred)
• Production scheduling: 3 years (Preferred)
