Quality processes and production quality is one of the highest priorities at Miles Fiberglass & Composites, Inc. Through daily process checks as well as short and long term projects, the QA Supervisor will ensure the integrity of all parts that we produce, so that our customers can rely on our quality with full confidence and satisfaction. The successful QA Supervisor will have a tenacious character, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within our company.

QA Supervisor will assist the team in driving ownership of quality throughout the entire Miles Fiberglass team. Miles Fiberglass QA Supervisor will implement, and coordinate quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.

Job Functions:

Implements quality control inspections designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards:

• Inspects product against customer requirements to ensure compliance of product specifications to present standards and establish quality and reliability of finished product.
• Implements quality control objectives, and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant personnel to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Performs checks of materials and components to ensure compliance related to customer quality requirements and standards.
• Signs off on all inspected products.
• Assists in implementing training activities related to product quality and reliability.
• May investigate customer complaints regarding quality.
• Communicates to Quality Assurance Manager recurring quality issues.
• Represents Miles Fiberglass & Composites with integrity and good judgment at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Light strength requirements regarding reaching, and handling materials.
• Good vision, ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately.

Environmental Conditions:

• Occasional exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes, and solvents.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Communication – Communicating with people to convey or exchange information.

• General Educational Development:
• Reasoning – Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Mathematical – Knowledge of Algebra, analytical geometry and statistics. Apply mathematical operations to frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, normal curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
• Knowledge/experience of composite manufacturing.
• Windows-based software knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

• Process knowledge and Continuous Process Improvement background.

  Aptitudes: Very high degree of ability to understand instruction and underlying principles, to reason and make judgments. Ability to make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings.

• Involved in solving problems, making evaluations, or reaching conclusions based on subjective or objective criteria. Involved in adhering to and achieving exact levels of performance, using precision measuring instruments, tools, and machines to attain precise dimensions; preparing exact verbal and numerical records; complying with precise instruments and specifications for materials, methods, procedures, and techniques to attain specified standards.
