Quality Assurance Nurse, Sr. jobs in Kansas City, KS

Available Shifts:

(12-Hour Day shifts), 7 am to 7:30 pm

(12-Hour Day shifts), 7 pm to 7:30

Responsibilities:

Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, initiating and maintaining intravenous fluids, drawing labs, according to physician orders and hospital policy and procedures.

Multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.

Makes regular rounds of assigned patients independently and with physicians; observes and evaluates patient’s symptoms, progress, and reactions to treatments and/or medications, and takes corrective action, as indicated.

Admits, transfers and discharges patients.

Instructs patients and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and so forth to allay apprehensions; explains home care methods and techniques necessary for continuing patient care.

Documents and maintains records and charts, and reports patient’s condition, medications given and treatments administered to the team members on the following shift.

Demonstrates and maintains competency in nursing, along with, age-appropriate training.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Ability to function effectively in team environment.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, healthcare providers, and social service providers regarding the patient’s needs.

Understanding of diverse patient populations and utilization patterns.

Excellent organizational skills regarding independently managing workload and related responsibilities.
