Job Summary: As a Packer/Quality Control Specialist at our powder coating facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient packaging of coated products while maintaining high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include inspecting finished products, properly packaging them for shipment, and conducting quality control checks to guarantee customer satisfaction. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control Inspections:
· Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Identify any defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies in the coating, surface finish, or overall appearance.
· Utilize measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to product specifications.
2. Packaging Operations:
· Package finished products according to specified guidelines, ensuring proper protection during transportation and storage.
· Select appropriate packaging materials, such as boxes, containers, or protective wrapping, based on product size, shape, and fragility.
· Seal packages securely and affix appropriate labels or markings for identification and tracking purposes.
3. Material Handling:
· Handle coated products with care to prevent damage or contamination during packaging and transportation.
· Safely operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, to move products within the facility as needed.
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including storage areas for packaging materials and finished goods.
4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
· Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, packaging activities, and inventory levels.
· Document any issues or discrepancies encountered during the packaging process and report them to the appropriate personnel.
· Assist in the preparation of shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
5. Team Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with other team members, including production staff, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel, to meet production goals and quality targets.
· Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
6. Qualifications and Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in powder coating or a related industry.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
· Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts and packaging materials.
· Familiarity with quality control procedures and inspection techniques.
· Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions, quantities, and weights.
· Ability to follow safety guidelines and adhere to company policies and procedures.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
· Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Use of hands and arms to manipulate objects and operate packaging equipment.
· Tolerance for exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noises typical of a manufacturing environment.
