JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the final inspection of a truck before shipping. They will inspect finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, and assemblies, etc. for conformance to company standards. Coordinates with other departments within the organization to complete any needed repairs or required changes prior to approval. This position must engage with all areas of the company in a professional but firm manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Methodically check all functions: hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and overall operation
• Examine workmanship: welds, paint, hose routing and wiring harness routing
• Confirms the unit as built matches the written work order
• Confirms prior departmental inspections are complete and signatures obtained
• Coordinate workflow with other departments to maximize completion of finished units
• Take pictures and download to designated files
• Track issues to identify trends
• Work with departments to identify opportunities for quality improvement
• Communicate status of units with Sales Department
• Responsible for final approval/sign off prior to releasing for shipment
• Adapts to new quality measure methodology and process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Thorough knowledge of functionality of all units
• Understands quality standards and variants to meet customer expectations
• Efficiently reads work orders and customization requirements
• Good working relationship with line leaders to set priorities and get things done
• Communicates effectively and timely
• Minimum of two years training depending on ability to retain details
• Detail oriented
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined
• Ability to read tape measure and stopwatch
• CDL preferred
• Ability to effectively work with all people in all areas of the company
• Self-starter with high expectations
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
• Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions as up to 85 percent of the job is performed outdoors in the elements
• Must be able to safely get in and out of a truck up to 100 times a day
• Requires walking, bending, twisting, stooping, lifting and climbing
