Veterinary Radiation Oncology Technician

TrueCare for pets is a 24-hour emergency and specialty animal hospital located in Studio City, CA. We are hiring for Veterinary technicians in our radiation oncology department. Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience
• RVT license preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
• Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Strong attention to detail and follow through
• Ability to handle high stress situations
• Knowledge of vital signs and when to alert a doctor regarding patient status.

Essential Job Duties:

• Ability to perform veterinary technician duties. Including but not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic drug calculations, fluids and CRIs, radiology.
• Obtain and run/process lab samples.
• Monitoring anesthesia
• Restraint of both dogs and cats
• Comfortable with IV/IM/SQ injections
• Urine collection via cystocentesis (K9 and feline)
• Stocking and cleaning
• Perform sedation and anesthesia for CT scans and radiation treatments
• Assist in patient procedures: exams, preparation of patients, and equipment
• Maintenance of equipment used in the department
• Additional duties as assigned
