Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates computerized isodose plans for radiation oncology patients. Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam hyperthermia and brachytherapy radiation treatment programs. Being a Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations, and records treatment data in therapy chart. Interprets physician prescriptions to develop a therapeutic treatment plan. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist typically requires completion of a training program in medical dosimetry and ARRT registration in radiation therapy. Requires a bachelor's degree of physical or biological sciences. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Qualifications:
A graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program. Board eligible with certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) obtained within two years of graduation from the program. Bachelor's degree preferred.
OR
A Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) with two years of dosimetry experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
BLS and/or ALS CPR certification required.
Experience:
3D, IMRT and Stereotactic planning on Monaco for Elekta linear accelerators and TomoTherapy Planning on Precision experience preferred. Experience with MIM contouring and summation is a plus. Experience with HDR planning on Oncentra is preferred. Experience with C-Rad surface guidance and DIBH techniques is a plus.
After the initial 90-day orientation period this position will allow employees to work from home at least 50% of the time.
