We are one of the leaders in the sales of rental and maintenance of Radio Communications and as a result of organisational growth are looking to appoint a Cable Production Operative in the manufacture of electrical components to join our busy experienced team. Reporting into the Production Manager, you will be based in the Head Office on the Wirral, the main purpose of your role will see you carrying out working within the Sure Antennas Manufacturing facility, building and supplying electricals cables to produce cable kits that can be delivered to the customer in-line with delivery schedules, whilst ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.
Full product Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
The main purpose of the role is:
- Following production programmes and works orders as they are generated and then manufacturing or assembling the cable kit as required.
- Using the MRP Computer system to update works orders and quantities
- Manufacturing a quality product right first time all the time
- Learning to solder, manufacture cable terminations and assembling cable kits.
- Packaging the completed cable kits for despatch to the customer
- Lifting, moving, loading, unloading, moving, stacking, wrapping and storing product and materials
- Keeping appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and delivery despatches are met to meet the business KPI’s.
- Ensuring the integrity of the system(s) accuracy
- Maintain housekeeping within own work area, assisting in the security of the facility
- Complying with all company Health & Safety and other procedures as required
The successful candidate will have:
- Good Basic Computer Skills – knowledge and use of Excel, Word and Emails
- Ability to communicate in a professional but friendly manner;
- Good attention to detail with a commitment to ensuring quality & quantity of output;
- A flexible attitude and be able to work in all areas on your own or part of a team.
- Commitment to promoting behaviours as set down in the Employment Handbook.
- A “will do” attitude
- Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent
- The ability to read & understand electrical drawings
- Good communication skills
- The ability to think on your feet
It may be an advantage if you had:
- Some experience of soldering and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Telecoms experience
