Radio Frequency Engineer develops products and technologies related to wireless telecommunications by applying RF and mixed signal capabilities. Responsibilities may include RF front-end design, radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis and filter design, frequency coordination, analog-to-digital converters, cell site equipment layout, and circuit design. Being a Radio Frequency Engineer develops and executes product testing and integration plans for new or updated products. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Radio Frequency Engineer typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Radio Frequency Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

     

    This position is not eligible for telecommuting. 

     

    Essential Functions

    • Prepare and maintain Master Station Logs, Frequency Clearance/Protection checklists, Operations Directives, Job Assignment sheets, Daily Schedules, FCA System Status Reports, and software required to control and manage the WR RF environment.
    • Provide on-shift real-time technical guidance.
    • Coordinate with other operational control centers at the Western Range, other DoD test Ranges, Air Force personnel, Government personnel, outside Contractor, RGNext management, and FCA personnel.
    • Generate contract data items and maintain several databases.
    • Perform other duties/cross utilization as assigned.  

     

    Required Skills

    • Ability to make independent decisions based on the information at their disposal.
    • Solid conflict management skills
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
    • Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment.

    Required Experience

    • Associate’s degree in a technical related field or technical school certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

    • Two (2) years of technical or analysis related work experience.

    • Proficient at operating computer and Microsoft Office suite to include Outlook, Word and Excel.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
    • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

    The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $29.56 to $36.92.  RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
