Radio Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs radio transmitting and receiving equipment. Being a Radio Mechanic has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Radio Mechanic works under immediate supervision. PRS is looking for an Experienced Diesel Mechanic for our East St Louis, IL rail terminal in a recession-proof industry.
You will be an employee of Pacific Rail Services and not an employee of the Railroad.
Compensation:- Hourly pay with yearly income potential of $52,000-$62,000 per year (Which includes overtime)
- Pay rate is commensurate with experience. ($20 /hr based on experience)
Union:- District 9
Qualifications:- Should have a minimum of 2-year experience in the mechanical field and be preventative maintenance minded.
- Must have own tools (Yearly tool allowance provided).
- Must have experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic and Diesel systems and components.
- Will need a valid driver's license.
Primary Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair overhead cranes and side-loader equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hostler fleet, forklifts, company vehicles.
- Maintain Hostler Fleet.
- Welding, fabricating.
- Working on Electrical components.
- Routine maintenance.
- Assist in other areas as needed by managers.

Requirements:- A valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to pass a 7 year background check. Any felonies in the last 7 years or jail time in the last 5 years will disqualify applicants.
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
- Must be able to pass an IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
- (No GED or Diploma Required).
