Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Radiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to McLaren Greater Lansing. McLaren partnered with Michigan State University to consolidate its two current Lansing hospital facilities into a new health care campus at the MSU Foundation’s University Corporate Research Park, located between Collins Road and US 127. The campus opened in March of 2022 and houses a 240-bed state-of-the-art hospital, cancer center, ambulatory, and other facilities to support health care delivery, educational opportunities, and medical research. This campus is home to over 1,000 physicians, researchers, educators and other members of the academic and medical team.
What we are looking for: We are seeking two full time Lansing based Breast Imaging Radiologists to work with other breast imagers and support this expansion. The position will work in Lansing primarily but have occasional off site coverage at Memorial Healthcare Owosso and Sparrow Eaton Hospital. This is a partnership track position. Our standard schedule includes 39 work weeks, 13 weeks’ vacation, and 11 weekends. We also have a no nights or weekends/breast only partnership track option.
Responsibilities:
· Digital mammography, breast MRI, tomosynthesis and breast ultrasound
· Stereotactic, ultrasound-guided and MRI-guided biopsies
Requirements:
· Proficient in all aspects of breast imaging including breast procedures.
· American Board of Radiology certified or Board-Eligible
· Breast imaging fellowship preferred
