SUMMARY OF THE JOB :
Reporting to the Cybersecurity Leader, the Security Analyst’s is an operational role within the Cybersecurity team. This position focuses on vulnerability management, monitoring, scanning, threat remediation analysis and reporting .
The position interfaces with all areas of Technology, Risk Management, and the business users compiling security metrics along with monitoring of system\security events generated from multiple sources and systems. Perform basic maintenance of existing security tools with accurate analysis of the output of those tools to determine proper course of action for escalation as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operational support for information security tools for alerts, triaging, and maintenance
- Execute on information security activities such as vulnerability management, networking, risk management, etc.
- Support the Configuration Management program analyzing monthly scans and tracking deviations.
- Perform investigation, incidence response, and computer forensics activities based on MSSP reported security events.
- Assist with assessing security controls and evaluate security posture of organizational internal controls
- Assist with evaluating third party relationships for compliance to organization security standards
- Collaborate within Technology department and Business colleagues to enforce and monitor security programs.
- Research skills required to gain knowledge of security trends, new methods, and techniques used in supporting security processes.
- Maintain confidentiality on all sensitive security matters
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and following cybersecurity procedures
- Assist with logical access controls for the network, Internet, remote network access, application security levels to prevent and alert management to unauthorized access.
- Daily application and system event reviews.
- Maintains frequent and effective interaction with Network, Systems, Risk and Technology support areas to ensure compliance with IT Security Policies.
- Assist Engineers & Technology Support Group providing fault resolution and escalation during and after normal business hours as needed.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Investigates MSSP generated alarms, escalates as appropriate
- Investigates application whitelisting alerts, escalates as appropriate
- Ensures security solutions are kept current across all monitored assets
- Ensures vulnerability scans are completing per scheduled
- Provides guidance to teams regarding vulnerability remediation
- Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the industry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Have an undergraduate degree with a focus on Cybersecurity or equivalent experience with a minimum of 1 – 2 years experience.
- Desire to obtain industry specific certifications.
- Can work independently on projects and daily tasks as well as work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to present technical subject matter to audiences of varying levels of expertise
- Identify patterns and eagerness to discover underlying root causes
