Records Supervisor supervises a team working in the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Supervisor evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Provides training and guidance to end users. Additionally, Records Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Records Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This position is responsible for the maintenance of all medical records which includes ensuring the records are filed properly, the file documents are filed timely and in the appropriate sections, as well as the release of information is processed accurately and in a timely manner. Must understand and adhere to the mission of this organization and the customer service policy.

General responsibilities

Education and/or Experience High school diploma required. Advance coursework and training from an accredited medical records program preferred. Certification desirable. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the identified duties of this position.
