- Responsible for the information in each recreation job descriptions when working in that facility
- Interview, hire, train, discipline, and review job performance of all recreation staff
- Assist staff and guests when problems arise
- Ensure the staff has all the tools and supplies to complete their job successfully
- Possess strong hospitality skills while in direct contact with the guest and staff while maintaining a safe and professional environment
- Oversee staff in day to day operations
- Responsible for all inventories and purchase orders within the department
- Maintain a safe work environment by promoting safe work practices and document any unsafe areas or practices with written documentation and work orders when needed
- Attend required meetings
- Other duties may be assigned
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
- Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures
- Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care
- Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
- Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
- Conducts him\herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
- Understands and communicates the Driftwood Mission
- Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally
- Actively listens to others
- Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis
- Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
- Must have a basic knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
- Must have good mathematical and computer skills
- High school education and relevant training and experience preferred
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates
- Minimum lifting of 20 pounds
- Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
- Hearing, writing, typing
- Minimum pulling of 20 pounds
- Standing for long periods of time
- Must be a strong swimmer
