Recreational Therapist jobs in Wichita Falls, TX
Recreational Therapist plans and directs medically approved therapeutic recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to patients' capabilities, needs, and interests. Being a Recreational Therapist conducts programs including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares reports for patients' physicians describing individual patient symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Additionally, Recreational Therapist conducts activity therapy assessment of a patient's strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity. Documents progress on each patient. Requires a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Requires to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Recreational Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. We are looking for a full-time therapist for our team! All you need is a master’s degree in human service-related field and state required clinical licensure with a minimum of two years’ experience working with youth/families experiencing developmental, emotional, and behavioral difficulties!

A Day in The Life as a Therapist
As a Therapist for Pathway Family Service, you will work directly with children, youth, and their families in our residential treatment program to assist in learning important skills and techniques to maintain stability and permanency in the home. Our program works as a dyad meaning a team partner will assist in meeting case plan goals and assist in locating resources for the family.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, eager to learn, who wants to help families build on their strengths for healthy long-lasting relationships and help connect them with community resources to improve their lives. We want someone who has a desire to help children grow, learn, and build healthy families and a strong desire to advocate for children and their families!
