SUMMARY: This Administrator role is a qualified person responsible to administrate, direct, and coordinate all the activities of the Kansas location. The Administrator functions under the direction of the VP of Operations. The Administrator will function as the Director of Nursing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. - Organize and direct the agency’s ongoing functions - Act as a liaison between the governing body and staff - Employ qualified personnel in accordance with job descriptions - Provide written personnel policies and job descriptions that are made available to all employees - Maintain appropriate personnel records, administrative records and all policies and procedures of the agency - Provide orientation for new staff, regularly scheduled in-service education programs and opportunities for continued education of the staff - Ensure the completion, maintenance and submission of such reports and records as required by the secretary of health and environment - Ensure that each patient admitted to the home health agency receives, in writing, the patients’ bill of rights listed as K.A.R. 28-51-111 - Ensure that the agency is in compliance with all applicable federal, State and local laws. - Be familiar with the applicable rules of the Department and maintain them within the agency. - Familiarize all employees as well as providers through contractual purchase of services with the law and the rules of the Department and make copies available for their use. - Maintain a current organizational chart to show lines of authority down to the patient or client level. - Have the authority for the management of the business affairs and the overall operation of the agency. - Designate in writing the qualified staff member to act in the absence of the administrator. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must maintain RN license in good standing.
