Being a Referral Specialist acts as a liaison between hospitals, clinical staff, health plans, providers, and patients to process referrals. Verifies insurance coverage and obtains required authorizations when necessary. Additionally, Referral Specialist documents referrals, communications, actions, and other data in an information management system. Generates and distributes all applicable forms, notifications, and paperwork. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Referral Specialist works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - Reconcile all district bank accounts.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly retirement reports with PSERS.
- Maintain tax collection records and serve as the district’s liaison with tax collectors.
- Act as District liaison with local, state and federal auditors.
- Provide accounting services for Pottsgrove Recreation Board and the Pottsgrove Education Foundation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Administrator.
- Three (3) years experience in a business office, preferably in public education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code) Nonresidents and Pennsylvania residents who have not resided in the Commonwealth for at least two years prior to the date of application for employment are required to obtain an FBI Criminal History Record
- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
