RENEWABLE REFINERY OPERATIONS MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced refinery operations manager to take on the leadership of a burgeoning renewable diesel biofuels facility as we transition to new products.
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily production operations of the renewable’s facility on a rotating shift schedule. Will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the renewable fuels’ refinery, located near Reno, Nevada.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Leads a team of operators in the safe and efficient operation of the biodiesel refinery, ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
· Executes priorities and production plans provided by operations management and ensures that targets are met.
· Sets and drives expectations of disciplined operations through development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training programs to train and mentor operators.
· Identifies and troubleshoots equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improves productivity.
· Collaborates with the maintenance team to schedule and perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
· Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
· Participates in incident investigations and root cause analysis as required.
· Responsible for maintaining Safety and Quality Systems as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· High School degree or GED required. Prefer bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or other equivalent related experience and post-secondary education.
· 10 years of relevant industrial experience desired. Previous experience in a biodiesel or Sustainable Aviation Fuels facility is helpful.
· Demonstrated leadership ability with team orientation.
· Field experience in plant operations and maintenance required.
· Startup and commissioning experience is helpful.
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other technology tools.
· Should have ability to work in an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, crawl, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, and the ability to focus.
· Must be willing to work flexible schedules as needed including nights and/or weekends as job duties demand.

· Ensures that the product being manufactured meets company’s and customer’s standards, policies and practices through the proper implementation and maintenance of all aspects of quality systems such as SQF, HACCP, GMP, AIB, and other company systems.
· Maintains clean and safe plant/refinery areas. Provides injury-free work environment for employees, staff, contractors, and visitors through engagement, JHAs, training programs, good work practices, company standards, and proactive elimination of exposures. Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical and safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintains and improves housekeeping in all operational areas.
