Regional Retail Banking President directs all facets of operations for a group of retail branch offices in a designated geographic area. Defines sales and service initiatives for the region. Being a Regional Retail Banking President develops objectives and measurement standards and monitors each branch's performance. Ensures that branch administration teams conduct operations and provide the service and product offerings that meet the needs of customers in that region. Additionally, Regional Retail Banking President may have responsibility for additional retail products such as small business and consumer lending. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Retail Banking President manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     The President of Head of the Lakes United Way (HLUW) is the leader of the organization, helping establish a vision for the organization that is achieved through the efforts of a diverse team of high-performing leaders, staff and volunteers alike. The President is the Chief Mobilizer; they leverage the power of relationships and networks, and work across private, public and corporate sectors to improve conditions in the community.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform in each of the key areas listed below as well as others not yet known:

    Community Impact

    • Responsible for the overall impact of HLUW on the community, with particular emphasis on increasing its capacity to drive the impact agenda.
    • Works closely with the Board to craft and adapt the strategy to achieve this increased impact, including raising the funds to support it.
    • Establishes and builds relationships with top leaders in the community, including, those representing the highest levels in business, government, and non-profit sectors.

    Resource Development

    • Drives key results in fundraising.
    • Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospective donors and key leaders of prospective new corporate partners.
    • Leverages personal and professional contacts and relationships into fundraising opportunities.
    • Promotes a culture of fundraising in the organization, both at the staff and Board level.

    Strategic Management

    • Serves as principal resource to the Board of Directors and its key committees and gives strong direction in policy formation and interpretation.
    • Partners with the Board of Directors and HLUW’s Leadership Team to craft organizational goals and develops strategies to ensure they are achieved.
    • Ensures coordination and alignment of all HLUW activities to strategic direction in the areas of community impact, resource development, and staff alignment.

    Organization Management

    • Provides leadership for all HLUW programs and processes.
    • Builds and leads high performing teams, ensuring all teams are aligned and collaborating to achieve organizational goals.
    • Maintains accountability for the operational and fiscal integrity of the organization within policies set by the Board.
    • Articulates a mission and vision for HLUW and leads the creation and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
    • Supervises members of the Leadership Team and works with them to establish goals
    • Directs and assists the efforts of the Board and Board committees.
    • Ensures that HLUW's goals of inclusiveness and diversity among staff and volunteers are met.
    • Works with the Finance and Operations Director to manage organizational spending, monitor budget compliance, and mitigate financial risks.
    • Assures compliance with federal and state laws.
    • Maintains strict adherence and compliance to United Way Worldwide and United Ways of Minnesota and Wisconsin including best practices and all required documentations and filings.

    EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Substantial experience working in the nonprofit sector (United Way experience is desirable) and interacting with volunteers and diverse boards. Alternatively, experience in the leadership and management of organizations of comparable size and mission.
    • Expertise on issues relevant to the organization.
    • Ability to command the confidence and respect of stakeholders.
    • A demonstrated track record of promoting diversity and an ability to build collaboration with the community at large.
    • Experience in or across multiple sectors, including nonprofit, public and corporate environments.
    • Experience in developing partnerships, building teams and conflict management.
    • Experience in building revenue and increasing philanthropic support.
    • Must demonstrate a high level of intelligence and intellectual curiosity and a desire to explore new ideas and innovative approaches to solving problems.
    • Engages in grantmaking to allocate resources to nonprofit programs that align with organizational goals and address community needs.

    The person in this position regularly is required to remain in a stationary position, and frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, printer, and scanner.

    The person in this position needs to move about inside the office occasionally to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Regular visits to the worksites of HLUW’s workplace and funded partners, as well as community events, require the person to move about inside other office spaces as well.

    The person in this position frequently communicates with individual donors, representatives at HLUW workplace partners and funded partners, members of the community, and other members of the staff team. They must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

    Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and a reliable vehicle

    EDUCATION

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,00 depending on experience. There is a very good benefits package.
