Rehabilitation Director jobs in Taylor, MI

Rehabilitation Director directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department. Sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other therapies. Being a Rehabilitation Director develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Rehabilitation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Rehabilitation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Current state licensure as PT/PTA, OT/COTA, or SLP

    Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in allied health field PT/PTA, OT/COTA, or SLP

    Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards

    Prior management experience in Skilled Nursing Facility preferred

    Preferred prior Net Health (formerly Rehab Optima) experience 

     

    Qualifications:
    Must maintain a clinical caseload

    Knowledge and skills to care for patient needs of the SNF population

    Must possess problem solving skills to successfully perform job

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    Strong customer service orientation

    Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other employees, patients, and
    family members

    Employee management and engagement

    Thorough understanding of state

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Demonstrated organizational ability and financial understanding

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Oversees the daily workflow of the Rehab Department.

    As a facility department head, will actively participate within the interdisciplinary team (IDT)

    Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

    Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    Carries a clinical caseload

    Provide direction and leadership to all therapy staff

    Ensures program compliance through review for accurate billing, documentation, and support
    to therapy staff.

    Responsible for maintaining optimal staffing mix. Including recruitment, orientation,
    development, retention, scheduling, and employee engagement of therapy staff.

    Clinical management of therapy department through patient identification, case management,
    care planning, and clinical utilization.

    Collaborate with facility leadership to drive clinical excellence and supportive facility culture

    Ensures rehabilitation staff is providing appropriate care to Resident in keeping with
    established standards for quality and in accordance with generally established principles of
    care.

    Supervises the scheduling of residents for therapy services considering available treatment
    hours, staff resources and overall plan of care.

    Manages the evaluation and development of in-house therapy programs including equipment
    assessment and staffing ratios.

    Completes required forms and documents timely, in accordance with company policy and state
    and/or federal regulations.

    Other duties as assigned.
