Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department for a nursing home. The Director of Nurses is accountable and responsible, under the direct supervision of the Administrator, for the overall coordination and direction of all nursing activities to achieve quality resident care. Director of Nurses attends daily stand-up meeting with all department heads and weekly quality assurance meeting with the medical director and interdisciplinary team. The DON shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in resident's care record, direct observation, and resident assessment. Manages staffing grid and working schedule on a daily basis to ensure that staffing meets the need of the resident's level of acuity and state and Federal regulations. Employs organizational strategies in a balanced approach that produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula for Success. Requires the promotion of and adherence to the organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the residents, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. High school diploma/GED required
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse is REQUIRED.
Minimum of one year experience working in a nursing home as a registered nurse is preferred.
Minimum of two years geriatric experience is preferred.
Minimum 1 year in supervisory/leadership role preferred
