Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department for a nursing home. Develops and implements rehabilitation programs by working with the operational leadership team and medical staff. Being a Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Responsible for the direction, planning, and operation of the rehabilitation function. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home develops and implements policies and procedures regarding staffing and budget. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require a professional certification. The Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Responsibilities- Assist DON in oversight and responsibility for daily operations of our clinical department
- Hiring, training, and development of staff in conjunction with your leadership team
- Work directly with residents to evaluate needs and services to accurately assess, communicate and document resident status on electronic care system
- Assist in oversight of aides and nurses and other care staff. delegation of nurse duties to unlicensed personnel as needed
- Other leadership duties as needed
- On Call
- Current RN Nursing license in the State.
- Experience in skilled nursing, Geriatric Nursing or Gerontology and/or Dementia Care
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control
- Knowledge of how to develop and utilize service plans, medication management systems, infection control practices and safety procedures
- Skills in promoting teamwork, leadership, team member empowerment, and responsiveness to residents
