Rehabilitation Services Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the rehabilitation therapy function. Supervises the delivery of therapy programs to patients. Being a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor responsibilities include providing consultation to and monitoring the performance of the rehabilitation staff. Oversees staff and ensures that all policies and procedures are followed as set forth by the health care facility. Additionally, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a license in the area of specialization. The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1. Coordinates the operations of the rehab department 24/7 to meet Patient needs, the budget and federal and state regulations.
2. Coordinates the assignment of rehab admissions and distribution of caseloads to staff therapists and therapy contractors in an appropriate manner.
3. Provides direct patient care on a daily/weekly basis (up to 50% of the day depending on location). Assures that Patients admitted for treatment receive required therapy services and service delivery is documented appropriately.
4. Serves as a case manager for Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Insurance patients or other complex cases to assure that the rehab teams meets rehab targets and MDS responsibilities under PDPM.
