Reliability Engineer analyzes and evaluates the reliability of products, equipment, components, and processes using engineering methodologies and tools. Develops the methods and measures utilized for reliability analysis based on product specifications, tolerances, or operating standards. Being a Reliability Engineer utilizes analysis techniques like FMEA, fault tree, and root cause analysis to identify problems. Oversees testing activities and reviews results. Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The Reliability Manager is responsible for supporting Tolkos US Joint Ventures (JVs) in development of a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.

    The objective of the RCM program is to maximize equipment availability and contribute directly to increasing maintenance efficiency, and mill production. The scope of this role includes, but not limited to, design of the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) / Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) approach, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) systems, Maintenance Work Systems, CMMS systems, and robust PM platforms.

    The RCM program is a living process, an example of continuous change and improvement.

    The position will be a remote work arrangement and will require significant travel between Tolko’s US JVs.


    What We’re Looking For:

    • 10 years of progressive experience in Reliability Maintenance;
    • Post-secondary education in Engineering or Wood Science;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (preferably JD Edwards).
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications – specifically MS Excel.
    • Technical report writing training.
    • Good working knowledge of Wood Products manufacturing.
    • Experience with continuous production process.
