Summary/Objective:
The Rental Clerk is responsible for describing available options on equipment to customers, computing and communicating rental costs, accepting payments. The Rental Clerk is also responsible for receiving orders for equipment repairs and services.
Complaint handling is a critical part of this position. Turning a frustrated customer into a happy customer, while adhering to company policies, requires a combination of empathy and tact.

Responsibilities:
-Greets customers and discusses the type, quality and quantity of merchandise sought for renting equipment, providing excellent customer service.
-Computes charges for equipment, merchandise, services and receives payments.
-Prepares and maintains merchandise for display for cross-selling of rental equipment.
-Recommends and provides advice on a wide variety of products and services related to renting equipment.
-Answers telephones to provide information and receive orders.
-Keeps records of transactions, and the number of customers entering or calling the store to rent equipment.
-Prepares rental contracts, obtaining customer signatures and other information, such as required license and form of payment.
-Receives, examines, and tags/prices merchandise and equipment to be altered, cleaned, stores and repairs.
-Provides information about rental items, such availability, operation or description.
-Advises customers on equipment use and care.
-Performs other duties as required by upper management.
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
-A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a retail environment.
-Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
-Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
