Position Title: Research Associate, Research Track

Responsibilities:

The Research Associate will play a key role in advancing the biomedical research program at the New Iberia Research Center and the University. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to ongoing research initiatives and demonstrate the potential for independent academic research, with the ultimate goal of securing extramural funding within three years of hire. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth and scholarly development, with a focus on achieving an Assistant Professor level. 

Responsibilities: 
-Actively participate in ongoing biomedical research projects, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance scientific knowledge. 
-Demonstrate a strong potential for developing an independent academic research career. Work towards securing extramural funding within three years of hire. 
-Contribute to the scholarly development of the New Iberia Research Center by publishing peer-reviewed articles, with a focus on being a primary author and co-author. Aim for participation in relevant academic or professional meetings to disseminate research findings. 
-Work towards achieving the Assistant Professor level by building a record of impactful publications and active participation in academic and professional forums. 
-Preferred experience in nonhuman primate immunology research. Utilize expertise to enhance and expand the research program in this specific area. 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: 
-Ph.D. in a relevant field 
-Postdoctoral experience
