    Physical Requirements

    To meet project requirements, lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 40 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, work outdoors, wear all PPE , sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, repetitive motion tasks, exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes

    including waste and risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job..

    Shift

    Monday – Friday typical working hours, for example 8:30am – 5:00pm. Some nights and weekends shift work may also be required to meet project demands.

    Job Summary

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Acting as Project Scientist

    • Design, synthesis, and production of catalyst materials and catalytic electrodes forlowering energy consumption for direct air capture ( DAC )applications.
    • Perform electrochemical tests and chemistry experiments, including but not limited to cyclic voltammetry EIS , constant current, constant voltage, carbon loading, alkalinity, XRD , surface area and porosity measurements, etc., supporting for DAC process characterizations.
    • Lead and work on the electrolyzer scale up, including but not limited to literature survey, process design, construction, assembly, testing (testing plan development), data collection, data analysis (performance metric development, modeling, etc), and data report.
    • Complete monthly and quarterly project reports and contribute to monthly and yearly project review presentations, i.e., including 12 monthly technical reports, 3 monthly technical presentations, bi-weekly DAC meetings.
    • Meeting the minimal work demand assigned by the project’s PI and team manager. Submit all original data files related to DAC process.
    • Publish at least one peer-reviewed journal article per year.

    Job Requirements:

    • Be able to work in multiple Lexington offices.
    • Maintains knowledge of and follows all UK and group policies and procedures.
    • Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 20 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, work outside as needed, wear all PPE , sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking.
    • Adept at computer software use.
    • Knowledge of chemical process unit operations
    • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written.
    • Regularly attends meetings and training.
    • Accepts other responsibilities, as assigned or as needed.
    • Maintains positive interaction with colleagues and external contacts.
    • Maintains a clean, clutter-free, organized, professional work/laboratory spaces and office environments.

    Conditions:

    Periodic drug testing may be required

    There is an internal employee being considered for this position ( IEBC ).
