Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Respiratory Care Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Position Summary:
Under medical supervision, may be required to deliver respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital.
Carries out assigned duties and responsibilities according to hospital polices and procedures as approved by the DirectorEssential Functions:
- Reviews existing clinical data, collects additional clinical data, and makes recommendations based on obtaining additional pertinent data.
- Assembles and checks all equipment used in providing respiratory care.
- Performs clinical and technical duties according to policy and procedures.
- Maintains patient records and communicates relevant information to members of the health care team.
- Demonstrates concern for patient welfare by performing activities other than primary care needs.
- Provides age appropriate care to pediatric through geriatric patient population.
- Conducts and modifies prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to achieve one or more specific objectives.

QualificationsMinimum Education
Associate's degree in Respiratory Care RequiredRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Skills
Certifications:
