Position Summary
The Respiratory Therapist II performs all respiratory care modalities in the palliative care and curative care treatments of pulmonary disease and disorders. This position performs bedside diagnostic tests to evaluate the extend of pulmonary dysfunction. Furthermore, this position is responsible for managing and monitoring mechanical ventilation and artificial airways. This position will assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) procedures, maintain documentation, standard work, and department policies and procedures. The Respiratory Therapist II must maintain a working knowledge of specialized equipment and related computerized equipment related to Respiratory Therapy functions. Finally, this position requires experience and training in at least (1) specialty area of the Respiratory Department, specialties include: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pulmonary Lab, Intubation, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy, High Altitude Simulation Testing (HAST), and Cardio-Exercise Challenge Testing.
