The Director of Construction is a crucial leadership role within our organization. Reporting to the Executive Team, the Director of Construction will oversee and manage the construction operations of our projects. We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in construction management and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement our SOPs for construction operations to ensure efficient and successful project execution.
Collaborate with the Executive Team to define project goals, objectives, and timelines.
Evaluate and recommend innovative construction methods, technologies, and practices to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Project Management:
Lead and supervise project teams, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and other construction staff.
Improve and execute on accountability chart for staffing requirements and conduct measurements of KPIs according to the big 7 for each position.
Provide guidance and support in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure adherence to established goals and contractual obligations.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess quality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Participate in yearly planning of company revenue targets to grow from 15M to 50M in yearly gross revenue.
Collaborate with the Estimating Department to develop accurate project budgets and cost estimates.
Monitor project costs, review financial reports, and implement cost control measures to maximize profitability.
Analyze and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitive pricing and quality services.
Quality and Safety Management:
Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, adhering to company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure all construction activities are conducted in a safe manner.
Team Leadership and Development:
Collaborate with the executive team to ensure company vision and core values are maintained to ensure a strong company culture.
Recruit, train, and mentor construction personnel to build a skilled and motivated team.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
Conduct performance evaluations with accountability chart and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
