Retail Tire Store Manager Assistant assists the store manager with the day-to-day operations of a retail tire store/center. Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Being a Retail Tire Store Manager Assistant manages the tire center in absence of the manager. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. Additionally, Retail Tire Store Manager Assistant typically reports to a store manager. The Retail Tire Store Manager Assistant supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Overview:
    The assistant store manager assists the store manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the store and supervision of employees to control production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit and hours of work in all departments.  They assist in supervising the ordering of product to fill the store, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to insuring compliance with state and federal regulations.  They are responsible for all hiring, firing, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions for all employees.

    Job requirements:
    1. Normally work a maximum 10 hour day.
    2. Be on 24 hour call.
    3. Possess good interpersonal skills, be mature and a proven leader.
    4. Read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
    5. Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.      
    6. Be a self-starter.
    7. Travel to & from work.
    8. Give verbal & written instructions.
    9. Read and interpret financial statements, including profit and loss, and set objectives to overcome deficiencies.
    10. Operate all equipment in the store.
    11. Able to program a cash register and balance store cash.    
    12. Provide verbal and written direction to employees.
    13. Assist with the supervising, recruiting and training of employees.  
    14. Conduct meetings to communicate business results and direction to employees.
    15. Operate telephones and intercoms.
    16. Write work schedules and reports.
    17. Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees and (where necessary) employee representatives.           
    18. Discipline employees, when necessary.
    19. Assist in establishing and administering rules and regulations.
