A healthcare network in Connecticut is currently seeking a new Revenue Cycle Analyst for a promising opportunity with their growing staff. In this role, the Revenue Cycle Analyst will be responsible for centralized reporting within the Revenue Cycle for preparing and maintaining performance improvement financial reporting and providing various data analysis, as requested.
Responsibilities:
The Revenue Cycle Analyst will:- Provide on-going detailed assessments of revenue cycle processes with focus on process improvement and best practice
- Assist in the development of training programs for departments to increase knowledge of relationship between charge behavior, billing, and reimbursement
- Identify revenue cycle problems, research / analyze data to resolve issues, identify & select alternatives to address outstanding issues, and work with management to implement solutions for improvement
- Assist the Manager to develop, implement, maintain and monitor policies and procedures related to the revenue cycle to ensure the quality of billing functions and systems to optimize reimbursement and cash flow
- Conduct follow-up with Departments to ensure adherence to policies
- Review physician charge patterns by procedure, diagnosis, denial, insurance type and other insurance groupings as identified
- Actively work with insurance companies to insure compliance with established fee schedules and contractual provisions
- Develop and utilizes reports to track financial and operational performance across the entire spectrum of the revenue cycle
- Perform data analysis, report writing and presentation of findings to management
- Provide analysis to support the development of budgets, financial and operating goals and establishment of staffing levels
- Keep apprised of rules and regulations affecting reimbursement and revenue cycle
- Maintain appropriate documents, reports and files in order to comply with all applicable laws and policies
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 2 years of experience in Healthcare Accounting / Finance, Revenue Cycle, and/or decision support functions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Healthcare Administration and/or a related field
- Knowledge of Revenue Cycle business processes
- Familiarity with a practice management and hospital Patient Accounting systems, such as Meditech and eCW
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
