Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Revenue Cycle Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Responsibilities

    The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for supporting the business solutions within the revenue cycle solutions portfolio including charge services/revenue integrity, health information management, and patient accounting. Supports implementation and provides ongoing support of revenue cycle applications. Works with Revenue Cycle departments to evaluate the design and determine modifications for all revenue cycle applications to effectively accomplish desired objectives. Provides technical support to entities as needed. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of the team.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Assists users and personnel with training and development of user documentation.
    • Develops system design, including functional specifications, and implements strategies based upon the analysis of specific operational needs.
    • Evaluates, designs, builds, tests, and implements custom or vendor supplied software and develops system-wide reports to support information management needs.
    • Maintains production systems to ensure reliable performance.
    • Prepares complete unit, system, and integrated test plans and test methodologies.
    • Provides day-to-day operations support to customers as required.
    • Coordinates efforts between stakeholders from multiple areas in order to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and test enhancements and other changes to these systems.
    • Identifies data integrity issues and analyzes data and process flows for process improvement opportunities.
    • Performs data analysis in order to extract requirements, identify data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting.
    • Identifies policies and requirements that drive a specific solution.
    • Works effectively on project teams and meets deadlines in accordance to project manager's expectations.
    • Works with stakeholders to build, test and maintain integration points with revenue cycle and clinical solutions.
    • Provides ongoing application support and troubleshoot problems when they arise.
    • Work with all stakeholders to evaluate, approve and deliver requested system changes.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience Required:

    High School Diploma/GED and minimum of three (3) years healthcare IT experience, required

    Experience with Meditech/or other EMR application, general familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications preferred.

     

    Experienced in building dictionaries or tables for Revenue Cycle, highly preferred

    Strong analytical, interpersonal, customer service, communication, and problem solving skills.
