Rig Operator is responsible for operation of the rig, crew, and equipment and for ensuring customer satisfaction with all services rendered. Ensures that all crew are at the rig and ready to work at scheduled time. Being a Rig Operator maintains productivity standards for all rig functions. Maintains a safe working environment and ensures compliance of applicable regulations and policies. Additionally, Rig Operator may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rig Operator supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Rig Operator typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO AFOGNAK SHAREHOLDERS AND LOCAL UNION 612 MEMBERS ONLY.

    The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include, but not limited to, trucks, front-end loaders, bulldozers, graders, extended boom equipment, tamping equipment, back hoe, compactors,. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.  This position an on call or per job task order basis.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Tasks to be performed may include but are not limited to:
    • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of Injury, property damage or loss of life.
    • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
    • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
    • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
    • Participate in routine maintenance. .
    • Maintain a clean and presentable workplace/station.
    • Accomplishes all tasks using best safety practices as adopted by EM385

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on civil projects.
    • CDL with tanker endorsement, preferred
