Summary:
A Paver Operator operates paving machines to distribute, level, and smooth layers of asphalt, concrete, or other materials during road construction. The operator controls the speed, placement, and alignment of the paver, ensuring the work meets the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate paving machines to apply asphalt or other materials to roadbeds, parking lots, runways, or driveways.
• Adjust the machine settings and controls to manage the depth, width, and evenness of the materials being laid.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
• Communicate with the team (drivers, laborers, supervisors) to ensure proper material flow and placement.
• Perform daily machine inspections and routine maintenance, such as lubricating, refueling, and replacing parts.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, both for the operator and the crew.
• Adjust and control the paver's speed to ensure the uniform application of materials.
• Assist with hand tools as needed to ensure smooth edges and the quality of the surface.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including material used, measurements, and job conditions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of paver operations, settings, and adjustments.
• Ability to read and understand road plans, blueprints, and work specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure smooth and even paving.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other crew members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
