Rigger facilitates the movement and positioning of heavy equipment, materials and cargo. Sets up rigging, slings, pulleys, winches, dollies and ropes to safely maneuver loads. Being a Rigger coordinates moving activities with others using hand or other signals. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Rigger may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and experienced Qualified Riggers to join our team. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving heavy equipment and materials using various tools and equipment. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate heavy machinery. Position requires NCCER or NCCCO qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Safely rig and move heavy equipment and materials using cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, and other necessary equipment
- Inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition
- Secure loads using chains, straps, and other rigging tools
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute rigging operations
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform routine maintenance on rigging equipment
Skills:
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks
- Strong mechanical knowledge to properly inspect and maintain rigging equipment
- Proficient in materials handling techniques
- Commercial driving experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during rigging operations
