The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Operational Risk Consultant to join our team at a leading life insurance company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, particularly within the insurance sector, and will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across the organization.
The Team
The Operational Risk Team within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) works closely with the business to evaluate operational risks, and the effectiveness of risk management actions.
In the Three Lines of Defense model, ERM is a second line function; our responsibility is to monitor risk and control in support of management.
The business areas (first line) own their controls and internal audit (third line) provides independent assurance.
The Impact :
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential operational risks and evaluate existing controls.
- Analyze data and trends to assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on operational risk management practices.
- Stay informed about regulatory developments and industry best practices related to operational risk management.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory bodies.
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in operational risk management
The Ideal Qualifications
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CRM) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to operational risk management
- Proficiency in risk management tools and software

Salary Range :
$95,100.00-$124,800.00
