Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Management Director manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Missouri REALTORS® is seeking an in-house associate counsel to serve as the Director of Risk Management, to help deliver two of the membership benefits most utilized by REALTORS® across the state. Specific duties are outlined below, but first a bit about the association, who we’re looking for, and what’s in it for you.
About the organization: Established in 1936, Missouri REALTORS® is now the largest trade association in the state, serving more than 25,000 real estate professionals through our advocacy, risk management, and member engagement programs. By joining the association, real estate licensees can call themselves REALTORS® and agree to subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics, which is supported by our professional standards program. REALTORS® also have access to a library of forms to help members ensure their clients’ transactions are done in compliance with Missouri real estate license law. Who are we looking for: This position requires someone with a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, who has been admitted to practice in Missouri. (Summer 2024 Missouri Bar candidates are also encouraged to apply.) They will have great attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures and stay on deadline, and can communicate professionally and consistently in person, over the phone, and in writing, with members and the public. Position details: The Associate Counsel/Director, Risk Management is a full-time position, exempt from overtime, with regular work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Central Time, Monday through Friday. They will report to our General Counsel/Vice President, Risk Management, and will be based in our Columbia, MO, office. This position may be eligible for remote/hybrid work after an initial training/evaluation period.
