Risk Modeling Manager oversees the strategic business analysis modeling activities involved in an organization's credit risk management function. Develops and evaluates systems associated with controlling credit risk. Being a Risk Modeling Manager determines strategies and policies that maximize profits and asset growth, and minimize credit and operating losses and other risk exposure. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Risk Modeling Manager typically reports to top management. The Risk Modeling Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Risk Modeling Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Requirements

    TRAINING & REQUIRED LICENSES

    • RN License
    • BSN or higher preferred
    • CHPQ certification preferred
    • Education around Healthcare Law is preferred.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

        1. Evaluates and modifies the Risk Management program in response to identified risks and proven risk reduction strategies
        2. Develops and implements policies/practices in response to new or revised laws, legislation or regulatory rules
        3. Oversees the development and delivery of educational programs to prevent risk or promote risk reduction
        4. Directs the management of potential compensable events or litigation
        5. Ensures that appropriate notification of PCE and incidents are reported to Astria Health and insurance carrier in a timely manner
        6. Creates a process by which patient complaints are reviewed and managed
        7. Ensures data is analyzed and trended to reduce risk and provide specific feedback
        8. Participates with the Nursing Leadership Team on special projects.
        9. Investigate patient complaints and medical malpractice claims
        10. Review medical records for liability issues
        11. Manage lawsuits and act as a liaison for liability claims
    1. Expert knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements and directs strategies to ensure continued readiness.
      1. Working knowledge of regulatory standards ie; DOH, CMS, TJC , state QIO and legislative and legal requirements.
      2. Directs the hospital-wide preparation and oversight of regulatory readiness.
      3. Assists as the onsite administrative liaison for all external regulatory agencies.
      4. Coordinates and develops response to any regulatory request.
      5. Assists with the design and development of effective analytical methods pertaining to clinical studies, special projects and quality improvement.
      6. Advises and directors managers on the interpretation of regulatory requirements to ensure consistency throughout the organization.
      7. Attends all meetings of medical staff departments and Quality Improvement Council, as appropriate
      8. Manages staff in planning, set up, and data collection for Quality Improvement measures and initiatives.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crouching and stretching required during the normal course of the day. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The work involves recurring exposure to moderate risks which require special safety and health precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment; risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, contaminated bodily fluids, sharp instruments, and other contaminants.
