Our BnR Band is looking to add a positive method-based trainer to our Training Team! Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants with experience working with a variety of breeds and their mixes as well as varying sizes of dogs, and at least 2 years experience working within both a group class and/or private training setting directly with pups and their people are preferred. Commitment to understanding the emotional and physical needs of each pup in our care and also being able to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with people on all topics relating to training and behavior modification (of both pups and humans) to effectively work toward long-term success in training is essential.

Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of dog training techniques as well as animal behavior and body language.

• A passion to learn and commit to continuing education

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills

• Strong dog handling skills

• Effective communication skills

• A love for dogs

• Patient and enthusiastic

We are a team of force-free trainers using reward-based training (ex. kibble, treats, games, praise, affection, whatever your dog truly finds rewarding and motivating) and positive reinforcement training methods. We do not use fear-based or aversive methods such as corrective collars (e.g., prong, pinch/choke, shock, e-collar) or startle methods. We will expect our trainers to respect and uphold these same training values.

This is a commission based position based on the number of classes and private sessions completed during each payroll cycle. Additional hourly positions are available in our daycare and training programs.
