Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Internship Description: NSA’s EHS Intern will play a vital role in assisting the Corporate Safety Manager in creating, monitoring, and maintaining safety policies and procedures that will ensure an efficient and safe working environment for all employees. Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement a Formalized Lockout/Tagout Program
- Audit Chemicals within Facilities and update SDS Book as necessary
- Assist Corporate Safety Manager with Safety Committee Tasks and Audits
- Assist Corporate Safety Manager in Safety Trainings and Certifications
- Track and Log Incidents and Injuries as needed, Analyze data for trends
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for work centers
- Implement and maintain all required inspection forms
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Minimum working towards a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with an emphasis in EHS.
- 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office.
- Prior Manufacturing and Safety experience preferred.
- OSHA, NFPA, EPA knowledge is a plus.
- Bi-Lingual/Multi-Lingual is a plus
