Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.   • Total Safety is looking for a Safety Technician to add to their safety conscious team. The Safety Technician cleans and inspects supplied air equipment, masks, scba's, and 5 min escape pack.

     Must have a current TWIC card

    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment
    • Ability to learn how to service Safety Technical equipment
    • Professional and neat appearance and positive attitude
    • Organizational skills
    • Basic computer knowledge
    • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
    • Ability to pass background and drug/ alcohol test

    Position responsibilities:

    • Greet customers and assist with customer inquiries
    • Clean, inspect, and service Safety Equipment
    • Fill breathing air cylinders
    • Issue safety equipment to customers
    • Build positive customer relationships
    • Restock inventory and maintain accurate counts
    • Abide by specific customer contract agreements
    • On call as needed- Some OT, nightshift, and weekends are required
    • Perform other related duties as required

    Essential skills and experience:

    • Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment
    • Strong customer service background
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
    • Ability to multi-task activities and shift priorities

    Nonessential skills and experience:

    • Refinery experience

    • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and gloves.  Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures.  Industrial lighting provided. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal but can be greater when using equipment.
