The Operations Support Supervisor is responsible for safety, environmental compliance, managing capital projects, and planning and supervising maintenance at the Somerset facility.
Your key responsibilities:

Safety and Environment:

Be a well-rounded HSE solution partner in protecting our people, the environment, and our assets to support sustainable business growth by building effective relationship, coaching, influencing and supporting stakeholders at all levels within the organization to strengthen HSE culture.

Ensure the local HSE management system is effectively designed, implemented, and controlled and meets DSM-Firmenich standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site operations and detailed processes and ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans. Ensure a robust but efficient risk-based HSE audit program is in place. Facilitate and support line management through investigation of all injuries, illnesses and incidents, and ensure outputs are used to enhance the management system.

Maintenance:

Coordinate maintenance planning by working with production to develop schedule and to ensure feasibility, as well as act as Maintenance Buyer to properly manage the Kitting Area for planned work. Schedule and manage contractors for maintenance work or upgrades that fall under his/her responsibility. Keep records for all permits and certifications for all equipment, utilities, and calibration records. Ensure all contractors are up to date with the company’s Safety Training and other requirements.
- Work with Maintenance Technician and Production to develop the Maintenance Strategy for all assets. This includes using Reliability-Centered Maintenance and Maintenance Excellence strategies to create: Contractor-Based Inspections, Repetitive Work Orders, Planned Job Packages, PM’s – Inspection, Predictive and Lubrication.

Manages facility and grounds maintenance requirements and responds to repair needs. Executes capital and maintenance projects, including preparation of capital requests (as necessary) and solicitation of bids. Work with Project Leads to ensure all changes are made to the Maintenance Strategy and Maintenance System prior to implementation of capital projects.

You bring:

BS degree in Engineering discipline
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies and industrial risks assessment.
-
3-5 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing environment and Chemical Process Safety
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong technical skills
-
Familiar with root cause and risk assessment methodologies
